BS 5839-1

New installations

Fire alarm systems designed, installed and commissioned for commercial, residential and mixed-use buildings, to the current British Standard.

How we approach a new install

Every installation starts with a free site survey. We look at the building, talk through how it's used, and design a system that meets the right category without over-specifying. You get a fixed written quote in plain English: no hidden costs and no surprises halfway through.

Most jobs take between one and four days. We'll work around your business wherever we can, with early starts, weekends or a phased install to keep disruption to a minimum.

What we install

  • Addressable systems (Apollo, Hochiki, Advanced and others)
  • Conventional systems
  • Wireless & hybrid systems
  • Voice alarm systems
  • Aspirating smoke detection
  • Heat & multi-sensor detectors
  • Manual call points
  • Sounders & beacons

Categories we cover

We design and install to every category in BS 5839-1: life protection (L1–L5), property protection (P1–P2) and manual systems (M). For homes and HMOs we work to BS 5839-6.

Not sure which category your premises needs? That's exactly what the survey is for.

Paperwork included

Every install comes with the documents insurers and fire authorities expect: design, installation and commissioning certificates, as-fitted drawings, an operation & maintenance manual, and a logbook ready for your records.

Working for a main contractor? We also install, commission and certify fire alarm systems as a subcontractor on new builds and refurbishments. Tell us about your project.
