Fire risk assessments
Written fire risk assessments for businesses, landlords and HMOs, with practical action plans you can actually put into practice.
Your legal duty
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Responsible Person for almost any non-domestic premises, including the shared parts of flats and HMOs, must carry out a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment and keep it under review. Since October 2023 the whole assessment must be recorded in writing, whatever the size of your business.
An out-of-date or missing assessment is one of the first things your local fire and rescue authority will ask about. We help you stay ahead of it.
What we assess
- Sources of ignition & fuel
- People at risk (including vulnerable people)
- Means of escape & signage
- Fire detection & warning systems
- Firefighting equipment
- Compartmentation & fire doors
- Emergency lighting
- Records, training & drills
What you receive
A full written report with photographs, a clear risk rating and an itemised action plan with priorities and timescales. It's written in plain English, so your insurer, landlord, managing agent or HMO licensing officer can use it straight away.
